I am so sorry to hear we have lost another classmate. I didn't know Dick well, but what I do remember is his quiet, yet friendly, demeanor. He had a very welcoming smile. My condolences to his family.
I, too, remember Lynn mostly from Holdrum. She and I were the only girls who would play softball with the boys during recess. She, of course, was much better than I was. I just enjoyed playing, but I think I was always the last pick when selecting teams. Lynn was a good athlete and a lovely person.
Greg was just an all-around nice guy. Whether you traveled in his circles or not, he was warm and friendly to all with a wonderful sense of humor. The last time I saw Greg was at our 50th reunion. He hadn't changed a bit---just as open and welcoming as ever. Blessings and sympathy to his family.
There are some people from high school with whom you may not have shared many personal experiences, but when you hear their name, your recollection is one of feelings. When I read that Greg had passed, my immediate reaction was, "He was such a great guy; so down to earth and kind." We were in a couple of classes together and shared a few conversations and laughs, but that was it. From those exchanges, he left such a positive memory. What more can you ask that just the sound of someone's name evokes such a positive feeling. Rest in peace, Greg.
I remember Louie very well. He could always make you laugh; sometimes at the teacher's expense. He was my first "date" in 6th grade; a western movie at Pascack Theatre. I remember he asked if he could kiss me and I said, "Let's not and say we did!" He was quick on the uptake and said, "Let's and say we didn't." It was such a strange coincidence that his father grew up just down the street from my mother in Paterson and they knew each other very well. Life sure has such funny twists and turns. He was always such a nice, funny guy.
