I thought about calling her this morning, before I got the In Memory email. We had kept in touch as well as our complicated lives allowed. At the 50th reunion, I reminded her of how we walked across the George Washington Bridge one night. We also went to the New York World's Fair. that summer. Maybe it was the summer after graduation. Her health had been bad for years and she didn't remember some of the fun things we did. She came to the reunion dinner, looking very pretty,  but had to leave after the cocktail hour. The standing and talking was exhausting for her. She never lost her sense of humor. When she needed a tooth pulled, she said "Well it makes it easier to ....". I remember her grandmother and the pasta faggioli. I am sorry we didn't have more time together.

Patti and I re-connected about 4 years ago.  I live in Westwood so it was very easy to keep in touch.  I would call her on Saturdays to see if she needed anything and what we could do on Sunday if the weather was good and if she was feeling up to going out. When we did go out it was mostly to go to the local park or if she wanted to go to an antique store since we both liked shopping for antiques.  We couldn't stay out too long as she would tire easily.  I will miss her sense of humor and most of all I will miss seeing her on Sundays...our time together was very special to me.

Thank you for the posting of the funeral Mass. I offered my Mass on Saturday night and lite a candle in front of  Our Lady's statue for her and Kathy along with a close friend who died recently. All gone, way too soon. May she also Rest In Peace.
