Janice was such fun. I have so many wonderful memories of the laughs we shared, especially in our Holdrum Days.  We would laugh ourselves silly at the most ridiculous situations.  I can't count the number of times we sat in her room and wondered what our somedays would be.  At one time, we dated cousins and they both loved to dance like we did.  We went to CYO dances and danced almost every dance.  We loved dancing so much that we would dance to the Juke Box at the Elm Luncheonette while we waited for the school bus.  Of course, we weren't supposed to dance there, but we didn't care.  We would do the "slop" to almost any song!  I remember one time there was a "kilt dance" at Holdrum.  My mother wouldn't let me wear a kilt because they were too "revealing." (Hah, this was before the miniskirt fad.)  I was crushed because I'd be the only girl NOT wearing a kilt to the dance.  So, we thought up the scheme of bringing an extra kilt that Janice had, along with knee socks, to the dance.  I changed in the girls room before and after the dance and no-one was the wiser.  We'd both also sneak wearing eye makeup, too.  Such rebels!!  When I recently saw our eighth grade graduation picture again, I laughed.  I remember teasing Janice about the position of her feet and that she always had to be different.

After our freshman year, we just drifted in different directions; different classes, working after school, new boyfriends.  It was a shame we didn't stay in touch because we shared such a special, innocent time of our lives.  Even though I haven't seen Janice in years, hearing of her passing truly saddened me.  She was a truly special person.
